Adolescents are mandated to engage in a minimum of 3 hours per week by law as monitored via the Vernon Independent School District. However, NTSH also provides additional physical fitness programs offered via Therapeutic Recreation department for each and every patient for approximately 10 hours per week of participation. Each of these programs provide general wellness activities such as cardio, strength training, dieting and exercise, etc. Each of the programs for both the adolescents and adults are staffed with Therapeutic Recreation Tech's under the clinical oversight provided by a CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist).
